Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role, demonstrating your ability to manage projects, build relationships, and secure funding.
  • Experience in public speaking and event planning.
  • A passion for Skagit County and a commitment to fostering a thriving and inclusive community.
  • Leadership Skagit or comparable community leadership program graduate highly desired.
  • Language skills beyond English and cultural competencies are especially valued.

 

Responsibilities:

Event Planning & Logistics: You'll be the maestro orchestrating the logistics of program events, from monthly challenge days and retreats to recruitment and graduation celebrations. Your creativity and organizational skills will ensure seamless and engaging experiences for all participants.
Marketing & Communications: Coordinate marketing efforts to create awareness and generate interest, participation and financial support by alumni through newsletters, digital platforms, social media, website, and printed materials.
Fundraising & Sponsorships: You'll be the financial champion of the program, securing sponsorships, identifying grant opportunities, and raising scholarship funds. Your resourcefulness and persuasive communication will ensure the program's sustainability and accessibility.
Community Engagement: You'll be the face of Leadership Skagit, building relationships with community leaders, businesses, and alumni. Your passion for Skagit County will shine through as you recruit diverse participants and engage alumni in ongoing program support.

EDASC, a non-profit championing economic development in Skagit County, is seeking a dynamic and community-focused Community Relations Specialist to manage business operations of the Leadership Skagit program in partnership with Skagit Valley College’s Curriculum Manager. This role is perfect for a highly motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills who thrives in an entrepreneurial, collaborative culture.

The mission of Leadership Skagit is to strengthen and transform our communities by developing individual, business, and community leadership that is informed, inclusive, and connected through shared learning experiences. As a leader in equitable economic development, all EDASC programs and communications are produced under a lens of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. 

Type: Non-Exempt $50,000 to $70,000 (DOE) + Medical, Dental, Vision, Life/ADD/LTD, 401K, and PTO
Schedule: 40 hours per week
Location: Mount Vernon, Skagit County, WA (on-site)
